It has been a while since I early hit the salt as I was exploring other avenues and am glad I did they have taught me new skills and sets that can be transfered to improve my own watercraft and skills with a fly,.
But go back to 2010 or so and things were all it this and 8wt that all certain rods in vogue etc. I went through too many rods to mention but returned to what works and finally finished the set of go to rods
Beluah 4/5 switch rod for Mullet drifting teams of flies
Scierra hmx 6wt single handers for Mullet close range
Snowbee Geo 8wt single for bass
Customer built bloke 8wt single handers for bass / carp
Fenwick techna av 10'8 switch 9wt for pike and salt general bad weather rod
Beluah guide 10wt for pike.

Line wise a mix of airflo 40+ and sniper lines with a Beluah switch craft 250 grain line on the light switch. All bought at sale process or 2nd hand saved a small fortune.
That said I do plan on building another 4 custom built bloke rose now 6wt xl50, 9 and 10wt bloke graphene rods and a 5wt bloke switch. A little more expensive but worth it for the perfect rods for my own collection. Then the others will be passed onto my son for his journey is saltwater fly fishing.
