Hi all,
Had a go at the Pike today, first session of the oncoming winter.
A difficult days fishing with 6 hooked and all 6 threw the hook.Nice to feel the dogged beasts again after a poor Bass season in the salt.
One of them i had the opportunity of dappling for.1-2m off the bank, sat there rock steady facing into the current.First couple of poor roll casts spooked it but 30 mins later it was back in exactly the same spot.I just plopped the fly infront of it and whack, fish on for 2-3 mins, quick tailwalk and off.
Not my day.
Cheers
Simon

...or alternatively, I could come along and make you feel utterly superior as you watch me spend the majority of the day un-knotting my leader and fly from the nearest tree, bush, shrub, bramble, reed, dogwalker, and my own leg.

1 cast out of 23 usually gets the fly near the water except on Thursdays when its about 1 in 10.
