Just a hello and a brief introduction.
After almost 40 years of fishing for trout and salmon, I finally had a go at fly fishing for sea fish last year and enjoyed it (despite only catching a single mackerel).

Have just returned fro Florida where I spent a morning on Mosquito Lagoon fishing for Redfish and Black Drum. Unfortunately a blank, but the guide put us over a lot of fish. It seems that the lagoon had been heavily fished over the 4th July holidays and the fish were spooky.
Anyway, I have decided to give fly fishing in the sea a proper go and am looking for advice, particularly for NW are of England (Lancashire in particular. So if you can help/give advise, please let me know.

Thanks,
Ian

hi lads ,i had the trip of a lifetime in cuba last year ,i went to isla de juventud (isle of youth ) booked through matt mchughs fly oddessey on the live aboard yacht la perola ,i had so many tarpon (up to 100lbs) bonefish, jacks ,grouper etc it was fantastic, i had to work weekends ,do jobs at night ,but it was worth it , i do a lot of diy trips to cuba & have good success but that trip was worth every penny, in summer i usually fish anglesey for bass ,getting plenty on plugs & livebait ,but last year i started on the fly for a challenge ,its 100pr cent better 1 on the fly is worth 10 on a lure ,last yr was difficult but i hope for more success this year ,cheers pete

Hi All

I have recently moved to Somerset from the South Cornwall and missing the Cornish coast like crazy, learnt an awfull lot about the place over the years and now have to do it all again on a new coast line i'm hoping there might be a few people on here that already target bass on a fly in my area??

The site looks great with lots of information to take in

I look forward to sharing this coming season with you all!

laters Greener.

Greetings from Denmark,
I'm Peter, 45, living in the northern part of Jutland called "Vendsyssel". I fish both fresh and salt water, this years challenge is a seatrout on a dryfly and as usual trying to hook into a Mullet
The most beautifull saltwater fishing though is the Seatrout of Mariager Fjord - they are the brown trout of saltwater! (I know - same fish etc...)

Bass and Scott rods 4ever 8)
Peter

Hi all,

Newbie to Swff here. Enjoyed a few years of sea fishing in Cornwall and West Wales and then heard about this and fancied the change. Still an absolute beginner at fly fishing so apologies for any offensively daft questions. Looks like you've got a great forum underway here, I look forward to (hopefully) posting some pics in your photo gallery in the not tooo distant future!

Happy casting,

AotM

Welcome to the forum. Sea fishing experience of any kind will benefit your salt water fly fishing. Look forward to seeing the photos :D
