Hi, does anyone have any suggestions regarding winter swff especially in the north east. The lead chuckers go for cod but are these a realistic target with flies ?? crab patterns perhaps. Thanks guys

If you think you can reach the Cod with your fly, I would say go for it - I've had a few from the boat on small Clousers. I'm guessing that the biggest problem might be the distance. Good luck :)

Some time back I recall a guy posting on here that he used flies tied with Starlights at night for Whiting and pollack at winter. If you have access to deep water, it might be worth experimenting.

Flounder are a suposed to be a winter visitor in estuaries harbours. They come up from the gullies with the tide to feed and come right up to the shore line in a few inches of water.
I had a reccy a couple of weeks ago at a few spots around Chi harbour, but haven't managed to find time to fish yet. Which about sums up this year, I've hardly fished at all-a very disappointing years fishing.
