just back from 4 days fishing, based in hastings, fished various marks covering all stages of tides. all I saw were two small bass, no mullet, and no mackerel. I thought last year was tough, I have caught one small bass this year. I wont mention how many trips. planning my next outing. glutton for punishment. steve.

Caught my first mullet of the season this morning at 6.25 am on a diawl Bach. Had almost forgotten how it felt to have a fish on the line! Nice little flathead of 1.5lb. Happy days. Hasta luego.

It does seem very difficult this year. I've caught a total of one small pollock so far, in about five trips.

I'm well into my weekly trips to the Salisbury AC waters. Guess I got my SWFF fix in Florida a couple of months ago... Having left my 9wt rod over there doesn't help to encourage me to get out here either! I suppose I could venture out with the 6wt though if I feel the urge.

Struggling to find the time again this year and when time and tide are right the weather/wind isn't or family stuff to do :(
Invested in a lighter rod and reel so desperate to get out and give it a go. Also been scanning Chichester and Langstone harbours on google maps looking for other potential marks-spotted a few with easy access. So keen to get out and play.

have been focusing on brown trout up until recently, only starting to eye-up the sea trout /pollack/cod/mullet/etc now.
the SWFF will most likely start in earnest this weekend. aiming for my first mullet on the fly this year - can imagine that i will be posting then.. soon
