Hello folks,

I'm off to Crantock, near Newquay soon for a holiday, and wondered if anyone had advice on where to flyfish. I have tried the Gannell which flows down the side of the beach before with not much luck, and the sides of the bay are not too accessible over the rocks, and I've never seen anyone fishing from them on previous trips. I did once drive down to Hayle, which is very interesting, but a long drive on what is supposed to be a family holiday. I need to get out for a while with no one noticing I'm missing (not really fair on a very patient wife).

Go earlier in the morning and comme back for breakfast...wife will not notice you missing at all then! The Gannel is Ok - try it on the ebb, near the mouth.

Good idea. At least it sounds like it now, but it might not seem so good in the early morning after the blues session up at the Bowgie Inn on Thursday night. Should clear the head OK. Can't wait.
