Hi all, can anyone help? Im off to Spain in our camper in a couple of weeks and will be taking the rods. Ive been looking on line about licenses and getting conflicting advice regarding these. Some sites say you need a license for swff and others say you dont. Has anyone any knowledge about this. Im planning going around Barcelona/Valencia region
Cheers Michael

I have found the best place for advice is the Tourist Information Bureau in the location you intend to fish. They will speak good English and tell you if a license is required for salty fly fishing. For freshwater angling, you will almost certainly require one.
Buena suerte.

Hi
I have a house In Olive Northern costa Blanca half hour south of Valencia.
I also salt water fly fish there when ever possible.
Yes you definitely need licences for both sea and fresh
as yet I have never been asked for them but fly fishing will draw a lot of attention to yourself in all the time I have been going I have never seen any one else.
The best place to arrange licences from is find a friendly tackle shop and ask them to do it for you , they charged me an extra 10 euro per licence to do it licences last 3 to 5 years and are reasonable price .
let me know how you get on . sorry for the late reply only just got back for there myself.
A bit to windy the last 2 weeks and the fish did not play ball apart from small bass to a pound .
Best of luck.

Richard
